It's been a busy week so I thought an update was in order.  Tonight was spent painting the cannon. It's a u-of-g tradition that people paint the cannon (only during the night). And since a couple of us enviro sci's had yet to do it our time had come. Turned out the colours of the free paint I had were pretty gross and pastel-y but it still turned out ok. Going to have to check it out tomorrow during the day. So that was today.

Last weekend was a nice step away from reality. Went to Hillside on Saturday and saw Pilate (and a few others - there was this something Unicorn band that was good too). And the lead singer of Pilate was grreat. What a good voice. I looked him up and it turns out he trained voice classically. So that explains a lot. But it was great. His voice makes me want to melt. Then Sunday was spend hiking in the good ole' Boyne. It was sad and fun at the same time. To see everything just grown up and falling apart pulls at my heart. Some of my favourite times ever have been there.  And I grew a lot there too.  Added a bit to the Shmem you all know and love.

The rest of the week has been mixed with school and doing nothing/sleeping. And some damn good chocolate cake and good conversation. Today's strange hit to my site from a google search  is "dream i'm having a seizure".  Hmmm.

And my last ever astronomy class was tonight. The last weeks of classes is always so exciting. During the lecture my prof was talking about the milky way galaxy in a bit of a wrap-up lecture, and he was talking about the theories scientists have about how the Big Bang and how fast the different galaxies are traveling away. And it's just so overwhelming. I love it. It's a crazy feeling sometimes to try to get your head around things that are impossible to imagine. It's a rush to realize how small and insignificant we are and how there are HUGE things out there. I enjoy it.

A bowl of oatmeal tried to stare me down.. and won.

That's how I feel lately. Put down into a twangy tune by the guru-of-an-aching-soul Johnny Prine.  Must be the heat. It's funny how we complain about having no summer weather and the minute it turns 38 degrees with the damn humidex we want it to be cool again. Is that so much to ask? I don't do well with heat. Maybe I'll move to Alaska. I do have a lot of wool sweaters I'm in love with. It's settled then.

Well I've successfully managed to put off the evil paper of death until the day before it is due. Anyone want to cough out 2000 words on the impact of tourism on the cliff face ecosystem of the niagara escarpment area of bruce peninsula national park? No takers? I'm going to move to denial land where I don't have to deal with school. Denial Land? Man I watch too much Buffy. Damn those scoobies and their made up phrases!

Gonna lie on the cool hardwood floor with my cat who can't seem to stand the heat either. He'll come to Alaska with me.

And simply because my cat curling up to sleep in my bra was too funny... Posted by Hello

Why can't I find my goddamned student card EVER??? Arg!  A bad way to start a week. I honestly lost this freakin thing once a week. I think it's a conspiracy. Or I should clean my room. Plus I have to sit around waiting for these stupid window guys before I can leave the house.  I'm just in a lousy mood this morning. Bah - there't nothing else to say right now.

Where is My Secret Agent Lover Man???

I highly suggest everyone go out and read weetzie bat. Tis one of the cutest/nicest/made-me-smile/feel-good books around. And in other reading news I finished The Da Vinci Code. Aiee was that book great. I know I asked before for book suggestions but was brilliant and didn't write them down. Any new ideas?

Hung out with Karen today. Good times abounded. We took a nice ole road trip to the airport. And enjoyed the ride home with the windows down, sunroof up, and Alanis Morissette blaring. Brought us back to the good ole high school days. We also each acquired new holes in our ears. Tee hee. That sounds strange. We also bought the grossest slushies ever and attempted to spice them up with rum. Ha ha.

It's funny how differently we talk and act around certain people. As much as we fail to notice half the time I'm sure everyone does it. But it tends to unnerve me. I mean if I act differently around different people, who is the 'real' me? Or is 'real' me just a compilation of all the different me's? Like there are only certain people I'd skip around a soccer field with, or sing alanis morissette at the top of my lungs with, or cry infront of, or sit for hours doing nothing with and still have a blast with. And what if I want to breach that? To move one person into to a different 'category'. You know what I think. I think I think too damn much.

Bollocks I'm sweaty (yes bollocks was said in an English accent). It's a hot night out (it's finally decided to be summer) and my big cat is sleeping on my legs.

Absolutely nothing exciting in my life at the moment. But was cleaning my room and decided to update. I was folding clothes was feeling all dizzy. Not cool at all. Maybe it has something due to the fact that it's been over 19 hours since I've eaten anything other than tea and some salt-and-vinegar chips. Eggs are boiling now. Go protein!! And tonight I'm making myself a big meal of aloo gobi.

So I have started the Da Vinci Code. And now I'm tempted to screw my assignment due tomorrow and my midterm and the cleaning of my room and read it. Probably not a good idea.

My dad just got back from his trip to Boston. Do any of you remember that children's story about the ducklings and their mother than went on a journey through Boston? They went through the park that has the giant swan boats you can ride? Well it was one of my favourites. He went to the park and took a picture for me :) Apparently they have made a statue of the momma ducks and her babies there. Cute.

283 days until I'm done university. Give or take a few days for finals. Someone told me the other day that I should enjoy university because once I got out I would have to be an adult and get a "real" job. And I was like.. what? That's not happening. Ha ha.

Well thus ends the today's exciting rendition of my so called life. Sarah just gave me a nice big wool sweater. Mmmmm. Oh damn! Forgot about the eggs. Gotta run.
